Ricochet Lost worlds – Recharged was released to showcase the best of the then 60 or so thousand (yes 60 000) custom made levels that were available for free thanks to the release of the level's editor. Ricochet aka Rebound aka Ricochet Xtreme (no level editor)
The following titles (in the order they were released) are included in the ricochet franchise: There aren’t as many power ups and it doesn’t have the gold ring game that was added in the next release, which gave you new ways to win lives plus, there are no expansion packs available for it. It's still a great game, though it lacks the levels editor that all the other titles have. While searching for more information I came across a thread posted in these forums about a particular free game called Orb 7 which in passing and in response to another community member who had asked about Rebound I'd posted the following in response to Midori: (though I've removed part of the text and edited it). The great thing is that (some may disagree) most of the sets that were given poor ratings are not included. There are over four thousand six hundred level sets some of which contain anything from 10 levels to over 200 levels so, potentially anything from 40 000 to 800 000 individual levels enough to keep anyone occupied for years. They include level sets that were created when the original site was closed as well as sets created after the site was closed. I'd done this a few times, but always came up empty, however, today I found one very quickly and was overjoyed to find that the hoard included many level sets from Infinity as well. As I said above, I was angry at myself at not backing up those sets I'd downloaded over several years so I started to search the net via Google to see if I could find anywhere that had level sets available. Recently I started reinstalling a lot of my arkanoid clones as I had a yearning to replay some of them, including Ricochet Infinity. This means all those amazing level sets with designs that were not possible in previous versions of the game were lost when my hard drive died. However, none of the level sets I still have included any that were created in Ricochet Infinity. I just have to execute the file then copy the resulting level set files to where I now have my ricochet infinity game installed (via Steam).
Those I still have as executable level sets.

Thankfully I had previously downloaded and backed up onto DVD several hundred from before Infinity was released (when you had to go to the web site as it wasn't available from directly within the game until Infinity added the ability to download directly into the game). Unfortunately, I lost them all due to a hard drive failure. It was quite time consuming, so I only downloaded a few at a time. I'd managed to download a significant number of the custom level sets over several years, i.e., basically all of the level sets that were rated from A+ and was almost through downloading those rated at B+. I was angry at myself for not taking the time to back up the downloads I'd already completed via Infinity ( we're talking several hundred that I'd previously added to the base game). Instead, you have to visit a fan site that holds most of the original custom-made level sets and then manually add them to the game (it's really easy to do by dropping the extracted level sets directly into the installed games folder.) The access to thousands of level sets created by the community can no longer be downloaded directly from in game.

Since the demise of the ability to download custom level sets that were available directly from Ricochet Infinity while in game apparently because the license holder said it was ''no longer viable'' (probably meaning they weren't making any money from it). All Infinity levels are labelled differently on the download site so if you wish to play earlier versions of the game, don't add the Infinity level sets. The recharged version was a thank you to the ricochet community, where the developers released the best of the custom-made level sets created by the community.Īll level sets work with Ricochet Infinity however, level sets created with Ricochet Infinity do not work on earlier versions of the games due to new brick types and bat/paddles with various attributes being added to the final release that were not present in earlier versions of the game.
